 Kerikeri river walk

步道平緩沿溪而行 有兩處壯觀的瀑布 Rainbow Falls and Wharepuke Falls 森林景觀很不錯 各種不同植被 溪流景觀也相當吸引入 最後到達Kerikeri Basins 造訪歷史性建築 Stone Store and Kemp House等 非常優值的步道 


We started at the car park on Rainbow Falls Road on the outskirts of Kerikeri and began by taking in the spectacular Rainbow Falls. There are three viewing platforms within 10-minutes’ walk from the car park and from here we looked down the 27m drop from the top of the waterfall

彩虹瀑布 毛利人稱此地為 彩虹的水域 堅硬的玄武岩 沖擊而成27公尺高的彩虹瀑布

這段樹林最優雅 林木蒼鬱 並有boardwalk穿行其間






溪流景觀 流時而平緩  時而奔騰 倒影更是優美

Kemp House
NZ's oldest building (Completed in 1821–22)
large range of furniture and personal items owned by the missionary families who lived here
Kemp House is the sole survivor of the Musket Wars of the 1820's, a series of as many as 3,000 battles and raids fought throughout New Zealand among Māori between 1807 and 1837. The battles resulted in the deaths of between 20,000 and 40,000 people.
全紐最古老的木結構建築之一 原由「傳教士協會」於1822年所建 之後鐵匠詹姆斯坎普(James Kemp)和其家族在此 生活了142年

是歐洲人與毛利人第一座貿易基地 紐西蘭第一座石造建築物亦為當地地標 以火山岩和貝殼砂岩為建材 1樓的小型商店可以逛逛 只是賣的物品實在不實用 因此看的人不少 就是沒人買



The Oldest Fruit Tree in New Zealand
全紐最長壽的水果樹(pear tree) 1819年栽植 到目前依然枝葉繁盛


St James Church
全紐第一座設於私人土地上1823年完工教堂 1878年於原址重蓋了新的教堂 白牆紅頂 彩繪玻璃去的時候在整修沒進入


有剩餘時間 我們去走一小徑 有很高的樹林
